How much a website costs in Estonia in 2026

A simple small-business website in Estonia costs €300–1,500, a company website €900–4,000. Below is a 2026 price table, what drives the price, what a website costs to run each year, and what must be included so you don’t pay extra later.

Website prices in Estonia: 2026 table

Type of websiteWhat it isPrice in Estonia
DIY site on a builderWix, Tilda and similar, you do everything yourself€0 for the work + €10–40 a month for the plan
Simple website, 1–3 pagesWho you are, services, contact, enquiry form€300–1,500
Company website, 5–15 pagesSeparate service pages, work, about, several languages€900–4,000
Online shopCatalogue, cart, payments, deliveryfrom €800 on a ready-made platform to €8,000 and more
Complex custom projectCustomer accounts, integrations, custom logicfrom €4,000–10,000

The ranges come from public price lists and price overviews of Estonian web studios and freelancers as of September 2026. Note that most agencies quote prices without VAT, which is currently 24% in Estonia.

Why do website prices vary so much?

Two “5-page” websites can cost €600 and €4,000, and both quotes can be fair. The difference almost always comes down to six things.

1. Template or custom design

A ready-made template is cheaper and faster. Custom design costs more, but the site looks like your brand, not like thousands of others using the same theme.

2. Number of pages and languages

Businesses in Estonia often need Estonian, Russian and English. Each language is not just a translation but separate page addresses, titles for Google and layout checks. An extra language usually costs €300–700 at a studio.

3. Who writes the copy

Copywriting is often charged separately, around €100 per page. If you bring finished texts, the site is cheaper. If not, ask up front who writes them and whether it’s included.

4. Features

Online booking, price calculators, payments, customer accounts: every feature adds work. A simple enquiry form is almost always included, but payments and accounts put the site in a different price bracket straight away.

5. SEO and search visibility

Some build a site “just to have one”, others set up page titles, speed, structured data and Google Search Console from day one. The second costs more at the start, but without it a site can go unfound on Google for months, and now in ChatGPT answers too. More on this in how to get your business recommended by ChatGPT and Google.

6. Who builds it

A freelancer, a small studio and a large agency will quote different prices for the same job. An agency’s price includes account managers, an office and processes; a freelancer’s only their own time.

What does it cost to run a website each year?

After launch, every website has recurring costs:

CostPrice
.ee or .com domain€10–20 a year
Hosting€5–25 a month (€60–300 a year)
Site-builder plan (instead of hosting)€10–40 a month
Maintenance: updates, backups, small changes€20–150 a month, optional

The minimum without maintenance is about €70–400 a year. A simple rule of thumb: budget around 10% of the build price per year for running costs.

What should a website price include?

Compare what’s behind the numbers, not just the totals. A good business website in 2026 means:

  • a proper phone version, not just a desktop layout;
  • basic SEO: page titles and descriptions for Google, clear URLs, a sitemap;
  • Google Search Console and analytics connected;
  • fast loading;
  • an enquiry form with spam protection;
  • domain, hosting and all logins in your name;
  • a clear number of revision rounds;
  • support, or at least bug fixes, after launch.

If any of this is missing from a quote, ask what it will cost later.

How can you save on a website without losing quality?

  • Start smaller. 3–4 good pages beat 15 empty ones. New pages are easy to add.
  • Prepare copy and photos early. It saves both money and weeks.
  • Don’t order features “just in case”. Online booking makes sense when your clients actually book online.
  • Don’t cut corners on what’s hard to redo: site structure, a domain in your name, the SEO foundation and speed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a website for free?

Technically yes: Wix and Tilda have free plans. But they show the builder’s ads and use an address like name.wixsite.com. A business needs at least a paid plan and its own domain, otherwise the site looks unprofessional and is harder to find on Google.

How long does it take to build a website?

A simple 1–4 page website takes 1–2 weeks, a company website 3–6 weeks, an online shop 1–2 months or more. Delays usually come from missing copy and photos rather than development, so prepare them early.

Why is a freelancer cheaper than an agency?

Freelancers and small studios have lower overheads: no office, account managers or sales team. The risk is different: if the person disappears, the site is left without support. That’s why the domain, hosting and all logins should always be in your name.

Do I have to pay for a website every month?

You always pay for the domain and hosting (or a site-builder plan), usually €70–400 a year. Monthly maintenance is optional: it makes sense if you don’t want to handle updates, backups and changes yourself.
